Joseph's brothers despised Joseph because of his Father's favoritism. Joseph was born late in Jacob's life to Rachel - Jacob's clear favorite wife. Jacob's gift of the colorful robe to Joseph added insult to injury to the sons of Jacob.
Jacob favored Joseph, yes, but God favored Joseph - with dreams, with his Father's favor and with his plan for his life.
People will recognize God's favor on your life and many will be attracted to you because of it. However, there will be those that despise you because of God's favor as well. While God's favor is not favoritism, it is not assigning greater value to one over another, it is; however, a blessing for those who love, serve and are faithful to God.
"For whoever finds me finds life and receives favor from the Lord. But those who miss me injure themselves. All who hate me love death.” (Proverbs 8:35, 36 NLT)
May you have the favor of God in your life today and everyday. May people recognize it and be drawn to Christ through you.
